First Day of Kindergarten!!!

Well, I am conserving lots of water. I cried enough tears today to fill up the bath tub for Elijah and Ezra both! Doesn't Anna Claire look just precious?!

She really likes her new backpack!!!

Does this face not say "proud"!?

The sun was so bright!

This is her school. I have to drop her off at the sidewalk and she walks in by herself! i never get out of the car! Mr. Alan her principal opens the door for her and she hops right out!! She is dropped off about 25 yards to the right of this picture!!! These pictures were taken Monday, her first day! Today she did just as well as yesterday! When most kids get out of their parent's car the parents are not paranoid freaks and they usually drive on off. Not me! I pulled right over out of every one's way (not in the bus lane like yesterday) and watched my little angel walk all the way in and I would not take a million, no a trillion dollars for this opportunity! Her face was so funny! She was holding back the biggest smile ever - trying so hard to keep her face straight...but mommy's know best .. she wanted to SMILE! That made my heart sing! She really likes school! The cafeteria manager said at kindergarten orientation that it was a feat to try to get Kindergarten students to eat lunch at all. I asked Anna Claire what she ate and she said .. "two pieces of pizza, a whole pear, a corn on the cob and juice. We are looking for the cafeteria to bankrupt over my children going there! She got to finger paint, play on the playground, had a nap time, etc. Last night we went to revival and heard out favorite group of singer's "The Fincher's". They were selling their CD's and I bought one. One the way to school Anna Claire said "Mommy, let's put in "The Fincher's"! I am teaching her right!!! lol

Kindergarten

Well, I have been scared. Reheheheally scared. I have been terrified that I could not get all 3 kids out the door and at Kindergarten with Anna Claire at 7:35. I mean, these kids have been at home thier whole lives!! We did the two days at the Methodist Church Preschool and without that tool we would have been completely lost and traumatized with this transition. We had to be at the church for preschool at 8:30 and I picked he up at 11:30. The door to drop her off was right there beside my car door. I woke up Ezra took him to the car in his pj's. Came back in and got Elijah out of the bed and put him in the car. Came back in and put Anna Claire in the car. Came back in and got all things needed to go with us. WHEW.. I am tired now.
Making this kindergarten transition has been hard. This is a BIG school!!! Well, we went for the orientation Monday night...we went for 5 minutes on Friday. (I must say going Fri was fun for me...even though I didn't go to that school it brought back many many memories.)
She walked in school like she owned the place. She knows where everything is already!!! Tomorrow is the big day. The big day that I will snap 100 pics of her and her lunchbox with Princess towel in tow. The big day I see my 5 year old walk that LONG walk down the sidewalk into the school. The big day I let my little girl go. Alone. Please say a prayer for me as this has been excruciating for me. I will post pictures tomorrow of her school sidewalk ...that is so long and her, my precious little girl.

Island Fun!

I am in the process of painting our island in the kitchen which matched, well, NOTHING. It was cherry wood with a blonde wood butcher block top. It is now a nice golden oak on top and its new body is a beautiful delicious yummy scrumptious black. I will post pics after I get my final coat of black paint on tonight after all kids are shut eyed. I am so proud! We have a white fridge, white dishwasher and black stove. ugh Soooo, after this paint job everything looks coordinated a bit more. All we need now is new paint and new floors. I want some beigey colored floors to brighten up the space. I have been looking at paint samples for weeeeks now. Maybe I will decide soon so I can get started! I am so excited to be finally working on our kitchen. It has taken a back seat to everything else we have updated. After the island I am carrying my pricey bucket of black paint (that I got on the mis-tint rack at Wal*Mart for ...drum roll please... $$$$$....$3.00!) to our master bath to redo it a bit. When I headed to the mis-tint rack the other night I thought "Why am I wasting my steps...who takes back black paint? You cannot mis-tint black!" Well, someone did bring it back. It was prefectly black and satin.. hmmmm. I am going to paint our vanity black..move a new mirror in from the end of our hall, get a new light fixture, paint our towel rack, get new rugs and my mom and I are making a custom made shower curtain that will be a beautiful delicious yummy scrumptious black and cream toile, made extra tall with some beautiful delicious yummy scrumptious fringe to adorn it. I am getting new rings and rod also. I am in the process of making some wall art to go in there.. can't wait to post pics of everything! We have the ugliest medicine cabinet ever. When we moved here it was screw up there. No, they didn't put it in the wall..just hung it. That makes it even uglier but I am glad they just hung it because it is UGGGGGGLY. I wouldn't have paid 10 cents for it. *gag

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY CLAIRE BEAR ;)

This is Anna Claire at 18 months old. She and Eli look an aweful lot alike! We have already celebrated her birthday in June when "Annie" came to the Dixie. We let her invite a few friends and lots of family attended also. Then we went up the sidewalk to Mallard's and ate. Very pleasant day! Now, since it is her actual birthday I told her I would make her any cake she could dream up and she picked a chocolate cake with chocolate icing and star sprinkles! hahah plain girl. We are meeting my parent's at Po'Boy's pizza for Anna a birthday dinner! Happy 5th Birthday Anna Claire!

Chlorine free bleach

I have a new love in my life. It, yes I said it, is chlorine free bleach! It is safe for the environment because it doesn't contain the chemicals that enter our drinking water supply and damage our septic tanks. It is simply citric acid, hydrogen peroxide and water. The only bi product of hydrogen peroxide is water. It works geat for stains, is safe for colors and my laundry actually smells like the pricey detergent that I splurged on! I got tired of walking around smelling like bleach when I wore a white shirt! Now, I can smell like a pleasant fragrance and help my EARTH! I just am thrilled with this product and the best part is it is 1.28 for a gallon at our walmart!

No smoke?

As I was cooking dinner the other night, Ezra was "helping " me. Well, Eli was sitting in his high schair beside me assisting me as well - with many "orders" he was shouting. Eli was "talking" so loud I could barely hear myself think. He was enjoying talking to me though so I would never tell him to hush. Ezra goes over to Eli after letting out a big "UGH" and starts waving his hand frantically in front of Eli's mouth. I said "Ezra do you mind me asking what you are doing?" and he looked at me so serious and said "Well, it makes THAT thing be quiet!" He was pointing to the alarm. I thought I would surely fall dead from laughter. Bless his heart... you can tell we use our smoke alarm to tell us when dinner is ready! LOL
