Stop and listen..

Most of the time when we pray (adults) we pray for the same type of things.. help the poor, heal the sick, do Your will, thank You for loving us, etc.
Children are much different. We take turns each time at the table and we say the blessing. When Anna Claire prays it melts my heart. One of the joys of children is that they stop and enjoy the things we as grown-ups don't hear or see. Anna Claire prays for birds being able to build nests for their family, for onions to make our food delicious and thanks Him for the mud for pigs to stay cool. These are things that He did create for our needs and desires but we often overlook most of the "little things". Children bring those things to our attention. Anna is so creative with her prayers. I encourage all of you to be creative with YOUR prayers. God doesn't care how small things are you pray about. He made the ability for the bird to make the nest, He made the mud for the pig and He grew the onion deeply rooted in the ground. Stop when you walk outside and listen to the train whistle in the distance and the birds singing. The other day we were outside and I was playing with Anna and Ezra while Eli was in his exersaucer outside too.. and Anna said "Do you hear that?" no.. i didn't. I heard the trucks passing our house, the baby babbling, the swing Ezra was on swinging, the neighbors talking.. Anna Claire was hearing the crickets chirping. She really does love all things He created. We have seen her catching frogs, crickets, grasshoppers, lizards, even flies (before directly scolding her). I am sure there are plenty more. She teaches me something new each day. Thank you Annie!
