WELL, I am afraid Granny hasn't improved much. They are doing lots more scans and tests today. She has elevated wbc's and glucose. She has never had sugar problems but it is probably due to the fact she hadn't eaten since Thursday and sat night they started feeding her through a tube so her body hopefully was just thrown out of whack! i would like to thank everyone for all the sweet comments.. oh how i love reading them. Granny is really exhausted and weak but she is still talking. She is paralyzed on her left side and blind in her left eye. The picture of Granny and Pa was taken Feb 13, 2009 when they went on the big family vacation with us all. Granny was so full of life until the day she was admitted. Her pacemaker is doing its job but her heart rate is still a little elevated but they are doing that on purpose to keep her blood pressure up enough to a healthy rate. I have been cooking dinner for Pa and he has been coming over to eat.. i think he has enjoyed our company! i sure hope so anyway.. either that or we are driving him crazy! LOL
Granny wants to be home so just keep praying. The occupational therapist has been there trying to teach her to swallow on her own...she does decent but cannot get it all the way down. She begs us for water but all we can do is swab her mouth out with a sponge on a stick. you all know how it feels when you are thirsty! ugh Granny also has a pic line put in her arm I believe...after a few tries they got it right. She is hurting so bad. They cannot give her pain medication because of her heart. Please get down on your knees and pray for God's will fir our Granny Sue.
