What spring holds...

I guess it is time to update.. We have been so busy lately! Thursday night we had a craving for some great fried fish. We decided to go to 1850's Log Cabin Restaurant. The kids were so excited. They love to eat more than pig on a diet. We got there and Anna LOVED the house! Eli had already ate dinner (one big jar of stage3 baby food and a HALF a can of "veg all no salt added" of course) . You know where I am going with this!? lol So we ordered fish plates. The kids shared an adult plate. They cleaned it with not one morsel left! I gave Eli a white bean to keep him happy and I don't even think he gummed it.. It went right down! Well, I am not one to table feed this early BUT loved it so much and I gave him a break! He ate 4 heaping adult portions of white beans and 4 huge steak fries. I felt so guilty. I hate when my kids don't eat healthy. The white beans were good but the fries weren't :(
Anyway, The dinner was so good. We asked to for ticket and someone had already paid for ours! I got chills and tears in my eyes. I am such a softy! I was so astonished that someone had done this! It was such a pleasant surprise that we will definitely be doing for someone else soon in hope that the chain goes on forever. It was such a pleasant surprise and we can definately do that for someone else.
We have been looking in newspapers, craigslist, and even on eBay for a good fishing boat. We have looked all over west Tennessee! We found an add on craigslist and called... it was practically our neighbors a mile from our house!!!!!!!!! weird huh? AND.. It was my friend Amanda's grandparents boat so I knew how they treated their things. He was in great condition and EXACTLY what we were looking for with an even greater price tag! We were so thrilled!!!!!!! We brought it home Sunday and we are already planning two camping trips for April! We are also wanting to go to the Zoo in April, Resurrection Sunday is in April and we need to plant our Garden! I don't know which I am more excited about! April holds many fun things for us! I cannot wait to teach my children how to grow produce, spices and teach them canning. My grandmother taught me how to can and I can smell the scents of canning in that little white outdoor "house" that they canned in. I can picture me helping and then when I got tired of helping I would spend COUNTLESS hours playing with my barbies..not in a fancy Malibu dream house..but what i preferred... I egg box with a divider in it that when turned on its end made a two story DREAM home! I loved that box. I had cut windows in it, etc. Oh the memories of canning days in that little white house. That was one of the many valuable lessons that I learned in my childhood that I can pass down to my children! Plus, knowing how my kids love to eat vegetables we could use the free produce!!!!!!!!! I cannot wait for spring...getting my new little buddy out and letting him see everything God made for our "eye candy". What a true blessing!
